Namaz Lock ("the app") is developed by Hasni Khan ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it's used, and how it's stored. Namaz Lock works fully without an account and keeps its data on your device by default; a few optional features send limited data to third-party services on our behalf, described below.
Namaz Lock uses your device's location to calculate prayer times for your area. Location is used only to compute prayer timings on-device. It is not stored on our servers and is never used for advertising or tracking.
To pause selected apps during prayer times the app uses the platform's own screen-time controls: Apple's Screen Time (FamilyControls) on iOS, and Android's usage-access permission plus a foreground service on Android. Which apps are open, and which ones you choose to block, stays on your device and is never uploaded.
Prayer-time alerts and dua reminders are local notifications generated on your device.
You may optionally create an account (email/password or Sign in with Google) to back up and sync your settings, prayer history, starred duas, custom duas and display name between devices. This uses Google Firebase Authentication and Firestore. Your email address, an account identifier, and the synced data above are stored in Firebase under your account. You can turn sync off at any time and delete your account and all cloud data from the Account screen in the app; if you can't sign in, email us and we'll delete it.
Namaz Lock Pro (subscription or lifetime) and optional tips are processed by the App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and unlock Pro features; RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user identifier and purchase receipt data. We never see your payment details.
To keep the app working well we collect anonymous usage events (Firebase Analytics) and crash/performance reports (Firebase Crashlytics). These include a device/app-instance identifier and basic device information (model, OS version), and are not linked to your name or email and are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Namaz Lock does not use advertising SDKs, does not sell your data, and does not share it with data brokers.
The dua/supplication library is downloaded from a public API (islamic.app) and cached on your device. No personal data is sent with these requests.
All settings, blocked-app lists, prayer completion history and preferences are stored locally on your device and are removed when you uninstall the app. Cloud backup data is kept while your account exists and deleted when you delete your account.
Namaz Lock does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Account creation is optional and not required to use the app.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
